The Lowry Academy is an inclusive school and welcomes children from the local community. The admissions application and offer process will be coordinated via Salford City Council and its timetable. This policy explains the application procedure and requirements.

This plan is drawn up in accordance with the planning duty in the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, as amended by the SEN and Disability Act 2001 (SENDA). This policy applies to all types of smoking including the use of E-cigarettes. The Lowry Academy has a duty to protect the health of its students, employees, service users and the public. Breathing other people’s smoke is a health hazard and damages an individual’s health. (Review: March 2025)
The policy and procedure set out in this document applies to all United Church Schools Trust (UCST) and United Learning Trust (ULT) employees; including teaching, support, fixed-term, part-time, fulltime, permanent and temporary staff. Whistleblowing describes the act of reporting or disclosing information which relates to suspected serious wrongdoing or dangers in the workplace and is made in the public interest. The Lowry is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its students. This responsibility necessitates a child protection policy and robust procedures. Governing bodies of maintained schools and maintained nursery schools and the proprietors of academy schools must publish information on their websites about the implementation of the governing body’s or the proprietor’s policy for pupils with SEND. The information published must be updated annually and any changes to the information occurring during the year must be updated as soon as possible. United Learning academies will ensure students with Special Educational Needs and disabilities (SEND) realise their potential and are successful. The United Learning Trust is committed to ensuring that the necessary provision is made for every student within their schools’ communities.
